Chunky Bead Wire Crochet Necklace
Chunky Bead Wire Crochet Necklace
Over Labor day weekend we went up to our friends cabin and she taught us how to make these adorable Wire Crochet Necklaces. I knew fall was around the corner so I did mine in harvest colors of Oranges, browns, tans and golds. I have a cute tan and orange shirt to wear with it.
I love big chunky jewelry so I picked out a lot of big beads.
The supplies you will need are a medium gage wire (colored one’s are fun) a Crochet hook, metal cutters, an assortment of 45 beads. necklace loop & lobster clip. If you don’t know how to do a chainstitch then learn it took me less than 10 minutes to catch on and this project was easy enough that my 12 year old daughter made herself a pink necklace.
Here she is demonstrating for us!
If you know how to Crochet then all this project is 3 strands of wire in a chain stitch then braided together. Before you start your chainstitch you want to slide 15 beads onto your strand and while stitching just pull one bead up at a time. After all three of the strands are chainstitched you will just braid them together.
You can cut it to the desired length that you want it. Once it is cut then just twist your Jewelry loop to the wire on one end and your lobster clip to the other end.
The necklace takes some time to lay flat but just keep working with it and before long it will lay on your neckline just how you want it!
Here I am modeling mine! (I’m sitting in the bright sun so sorry if I look a little pale & I’m squinting!)
