Witch Hat candy count down

I saw this idea a few years ago on Simply KellyB.  I loved they idea and have had it filed away in the back of my head for some time now.  I looked at her instructions and modified my witch hat count down with things that I already had on hand.  She used a paper Mache hat from the craft store and punch holes to tie her ribbon through.  I already had a witch hat that I had purchased from the dollar store.  This is how I recreated her count down hat.  I took a piece of cardboard and set the witch hat on top, I drew around the brim of the hat on to the cardboard; then I cut out the cardboard circle. Then I stuffed my fabric witch hat with plastic grocery bags until it stood firm.  I hot glued the witch hat to the card board circle.

Next I cut 1/4 inch size ribbons 6 inches long.  I cut 31 ribbons one for each day in October.  I put a dot of hot glue in the center of each ribbon and glued the ribbons all around the brim of the witch hat.

Last I tied 31 candy bars to the brim of the witch hat.   We gave this out away at our Halloween party.  It was given to the best appetizer.
